The last couple of years we have been using Talis Aspire for instructors to create reading lists and reserve course materials in the Library. Instructors use this platform to let us know which materials are being used in a course and we will make sure that, where possible, there is electronic access, and print material is reserved for short term loan. The platform has a lot to offer, so it’s worth exploring.
A fall reminder: If you are planning to reuse a Reading List for a course in the Winter 2023 term, don’t forget to fill out this Rollover Request Form. This will reset the reading list analytics data, and will allow you to make revisions as needed, while still preserving an archived list.
Some of our favourite features for creating lists in Talis Aspire include:
- Chrome Bookmarking Extension to quickly add a resource from anywhere on the Internet
- Add any format… books, articles, podcasts, blogs, videos, images, etc.
- Add, edit, or delete resources as needed with instant updates
- Create a list structure and add your own content, notes, questions, or descriptions to your list
- Integration with eClass, students can find everything they need in one place
- Notes to the Library: tell us if you’d like a chapter digitized, need a specific edition, etc.
- Analytics to tell you whether students are using your resources on the list
