Browsing the library shelves at the University of Alberta Library can be a fairly daunting process. We have eight library locations spread across three campuses! We also have access to physical resources at our partner NEOS libraries. Where to begin? Today we shine the light on new releases in the mystery genre to keep you reading into the long winter night.

Whether you like your frights with serial killers, paranormal activity, or a sprinkle of cozy comfort, there’s something for you on our shelves. Smart, sharp and endlessly inventive, the mystery genre is salvation for readers in need of entertainment and escape.

We hope you enjoyed this glimpse into the world of the mystery genre. From gripping thrillers to classic whodunits, there’s something for every detective at heart. Happy reading, and may the mystery-solving vibes stay with you long after you’ve finished the last chapter!

Holiday Hours:

  • Place your holds as soon as possible to receive them prior to the holiday closure.
  • Hours and closing dates vary between locations so please check before heading out:  library.ualberta.ca/hours-locations

Ask us a question!

  • As always, if you need help with your library research… Ask us!

We also have a virtual book display of some terrific new mysteries en français !
