    May is Asian Heritage Month in Canada, a time to celebrate and recognize the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Canadians of Asian descent. To mark the occasion, we’ve curated a selection of children’s books that highlight diverse Asian experiences and stories—perfect for reading this month and all year round.

    Mai est le Mois du patrimoine asiatique au Canada, une période consacrée à la célébration et à la reconnaissance des cultures, des histoires et des contributions des Canadiens d’origine asiatique. Pour souligner l’occasion, nous avons sélectionné des livres pour enfants qui mettent en valeur la diversité des expériences et des récits asiatiques—à découvrir ce mois-ci et tout au long de l’année.


    The English-language selections are drawn from the Canadian Children’s Book Centre (CCBC) collection, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting Canadian books for young readers. As a regional partner, the University of Alberta Library holds over 11,000 titles from this collection.
