Our stellar staffers share more hobbies and interests during our sixth week of sheltering-in-place.
Welcome to the second instalment of our #StayatHome Hobbyists feature. We ran out of blog room last week as we highlighted the hobbies of some of our library staffers, so we are pleased to have you join us as we continue our showcase.
Librarian David Sulz has been known to bust out an impromptu concert in the Rutherford South Office, often in perfect harmony with musical co-conspirators Lucinda & Doris. As he strums his guitar at home, one wonders if his kitty shares the same enthusiasm for song that his colleagues do?
We eagerly await the live stream concert by the band ‘Feisst’…as in Education Librarian, Deb Feisst. Deb says she is trying to form a family rock band, complete with oboe! Knowing Deb, the virtual ‘tour’ t-shirts are going to be stellar.
Indigenous Initiatives Resident Gabrielle Lamontagne has an incredibly inspiring, and zen, space to practice her hobbies. The librarian has a newfound love of woodblock carving; a craft that was inspired by an art course. We are eager to see the end results!
Our Research Data Management Services Coordinator James Doiron gives us an incredibly large amount of envy with his extensive collection of gaming goodies. Just looking at this photo we don’t know if we should pack fourth breakfasts for the trip to Mordor, warm-up our wrists for inevitable light sabre duels, or rub our temples with our fingers to prep our brains for a scintillating game of Risk.
U of A Library’s IT Services Coordinator Rebecca Morgan started adding to her comic collection! She shared her pull list from March 11th, which includes: Cable #1 by Gerry Duggan & Phil Noto, Jessica Jones Blind Spot #5 by Kelly Thompson & Mattia De Iulis (cover Valerio Giangiordano & Marcio Menyz), and Dark Agnes #2 by Becky Cloonan, Luca Pizzari, Andrea Broccardo & Jay David Ramos (cover Stephanie Hans).
