Dogs in the Library

    Unwind Your Mind returns to the Library

    As the 2024 winter semester draws to a close this month, the Library welcomes back our friends from U of A’s Wellness Supports for Unwind Your Mind exam-time mental health initiatives in our various library locations starting Wednesday, April 10 until Friday, April 26. And yes, the bunnies are back!

    In addition to the activities listed below, all locations have apples as a healthy snack option. During the evenings of April 16 – April 18 at our North Campus locations, look for volunteers from U of A’s Alumni Student Support and Engagement Team (ASSET) handing out healthy snacks.

    Please see the following activities planned for our various library locations:

    Augustana Library

    • Augustana’s last day of classes is Friday, April 19!
    • Monday, April 15 – Tuesday, April 30: Visit Augustana Library’s UYM Wisdom Corner – colouring sheets, resources, chair yoga, and more.
    • A full agenda of wellness activities for Augustana will be posted closer to the start of exam time, courtesy of Augustana Student Life, the ASA, and the U of A Library.

    Bibliothèque Saint-Jean

    • Jeudi 9 avril – vendredi 26 avril : Visitez le coin UYM – feuilles de coloriage, ressources, origami, kits de déstressage.
    • Toutes les activités de bien-être pour le Campus Saint-Jean ainsi que les trousses de soins pour les examens sont fournies par l’équipe CSJ UYM.
    • Thursday, April 9 – Friday, April 26: Visit the UYM Wisdom Corner – colouring sheets, resources, origami, de-stress kit materials.
    • All wellness activities for Campus Saint-Jean as well as exam care kits are provided by the CSJ UYM Team.

    Cameron Science and Engineering Library

    • Thursday, April 9 – Friday, April 26: Visit the UYM Wisdom Corner – colouring sheets, resources, origami, de-stress kit materials.
    • Wednesday, April 10, 10am – 2pm: Sleep Tight – Healthy sleeping habits during exam time
    • Thursday, April 11, 10am – 3pm: Yogurt Parfaits
    • Friday, April 12, 10am – 3pm: Care Packs – Build your own de-stress kits
    • Friday, April 19: Bunnies in the Library, 12 – 1pm

    Rutherford Humanities, Social Sciences and Education Library

    • Thursday, April 9 – Friday, April 26: Visit the UYM Wisdom Corner – colouring sheets, resources, origami, de-stress kit materials.
    • Wednesday, April 10: Bunnies in the Library, 12 – 1 p.m

    Sperber Health Sciences Library

    • Thursday, April 9 – Friday, April 26: Visit the UYM Wisdom Corner – colouring sheets, resources, origami, de-stress kit materials.
    • Tuesday, April 16: Bunnies in the Library, 12 – 1 pm

    Weir Law Library

    • Thursday, April 9 – Friday, April 26: Visit the UYM Wisdom Corner – colouring sheets, resources, origami, de-stress kit materials.

    The Unwind Your Mind team also partners with our friends at Campus Recreation to provide a variety of drop-in student wellness classes. Choose a zumba, pilates, or fitness class. Still your mind and find your centre on a yoga mat at their Calm Cove. For a full schedule of UYM Campus Recreation offerings, visit their website.
